The Armstrong Boys and Girls Club shuttle van was destroyed in an early morning fire.

At approximately 2:14 a.m. on Wednesday, June 28, Armstrong Spallumcheen Fire Department was called to a fire at the Boys and Girls Club/Youth Centre, located at 3385 Pleasant Valley Rd.

The bus was completely engulfed in flames when crews arrived, according to Fire Chief Ian Cummings.

“The fire then extended to the building, where crews were able to quickly extinguish the flames.”

There was smoke damage to the main Boys and Girls Club building, along with a completely charred bus.

Programming will continue at the club.

Cummings confirmed that the cause is still under investigation.
