A man is without a car and $167 after a crash resulting in a vehicle fire on the Trans-Canada Highway east of Revelstoke on Tuesday morning.

Police say the 32-year-old Kelowna man was heading westbound when he rolled his vehicle while navigating the Illecillewaet corner in Glacier National Park on June 21 at around 6 a.m.

Cpl. Thomas Blakney said the man was driving faster than the recommended speed of 50 kilometres per hour on the corner.

The man was able to escape from the car without injury, but his 193 Chrysler Intrepid vehicle caught fire as a result of the crash and was engulfed in flames.

The man was fined $167 for speeding relative to conditions.
