The Oliver Fire Department says there are suspicious circumstances after responding to two house fires in 24 hours at the same address.

On the night of April 30, crews attended to a blaze on Harmony Crescent with “heavy flames showing.” All residents were out of the home and safe by the time crews arrived, the department said.

The next day, at 5:40 a.m., Oliver crews responded to the same address and found the house completely engulfed in flames.

The second fire has been deemed suspicious and the RCMP has launched an investigation.

Any witnesses who can provide more information are sought, the Oliver RCMP said on Thursday, May 2.

“For both fires, a crew was left behind for several hours to monitor the building for any reignitions,” a social media post from the fire department reads. “Upon deeming the fire completely out with no signs of smouldering debris, crews left the scene.”
