My dear Mother passed away peacefully on May 20th 2009, days short of her 80th birthday. She fought a courageous but short battle with pancreatic and liver cancer. The Lord has welcomed her into heaven to be with my Father (Harry) who has been there waiting, since 1996.

Both my Mother and Father were born in Scotland and emigrated to Canada in 1956, just shortly after they were married. My Mother and Father spent many wonderful years in Revelstoke before moving to Cranbrook and then on to Abbotsford in 1978.

My Mother was predeceased by her sister Isobel Philp and her brothers Douglas, Jack, and George Campbell. My mother is survived by her sister Jean Filder of West Kirby, England, her son Douglas and his wife Shirleen and their two children Campbell (4) and Henry (1).

My Mother will also be remembered by her PEO sisters who represent a philanthropic organization of which she dedicated many years of service to. We are grateful to God for the wonderful months that we were able to spend with my Mother, watching her enjoy her grandchildren to the fullest. My Mother was a kind, gracious and loving women, a real lady as described by so many of her friends. We will cherish her art forever as a wonderful memory of her love of nature and life.

A celebration of my Mother’s life will be held at St Matthews Anglican Church in Abbotsford on May 29th 2009 at 1:00pm. Donations may be made in my Mother’s name to the Canadian Cancer Society.
