On June 5, 2015, sadly Alana Madill, our beautiful and inspirational daughter, partner, sister, mother, auntie, niece, cousin and friend suddenly passed away. Alana, her partner Jerry Collins and their daughter Ayla Ruth Collins were involved in a tragic car accident in France where Ayla was the only survivor.
Alana was born on April 24, 1980, to Ruth (Ahenakew) and Darrell Madill and grew up throughout Canada. This was the beginning of her love to travel, which enabled her to meet and touch the lives of so many people. Alana loved her family and friends with all her being, especially her nephew Jaydon and nieces Danika and Daya who cherished each and every visit with their Auntie Yaya. They will forever miss her. While living in Grand Prairie, Alana met and captured the heart of Jerry Collins and he hers. Alana told Ruth and Darrell that she had met her match and on March 26, 2015, Alana and Jerry's true inspiration was born, Ayla. Motherhood became Alana and it was a true wonderment to watch Alana with Ayla. The family of three was perfect. Alana was often described as a free spirit because of her calmness, huge heart, and ability to pick up and travel or move anywhere with a huge smile; she was always up for an adventure!
Alana was predeceased by her grandparents Grace (Bear) and Lance Ahenakew and Howard Madill. Alana will be terribly missed by her daughter Ayla Collins, parents Ruth and Darrell Madill, sisters Nora Madill (Ryan Dureau) and Brenna Smith (Curtis Smith) and brother Lance Madill. Auntie Yaya will forever hold a special place in the young hearts of her nephew Jaydon Dureau and nieces Danika Dureau and Daya Smith. As well as all her friends and those who knew her. Ayla is currently hospitalized and receiving care in France and due to this, Alana's service will be held at a later date which will be communicated by immediate family members.
