Kathy (Katie) Fisher

July 31st, 1950 – August 24th, 2011

Katie Fisher passed away in the comfort of her home in Armstrong BC at the age of 61.

Kathleen Joanne Reid was born in Abbotsford BC where she grew up on the family farm. She was the second born of five with an older sister Sue and three younger brothers Don, Jack, and Bill. Katie’s parents Robert and Johanna provided a loving home and it was Katie’s hope to have a large family of her own. She had a passion for adding beauty to the world around her through gardening and many other talents including various sports, singing and playing musical instruments. Katie found joy in helping others and she strived to make a difference in every facet of her life.

Katie chose to raise her three daughters Angela, Candace, and Bobbi-Jo in the picturesque town of Revelstoke BC. It was here that she married the love of her life Edward Fisher. Together, Ed and Katie moved to a farm in the sunny Okanagan where Katie accomplished her dream of growing beautiful flowers and plants for local garden centres. Katie’s fun loving spirit and sense of humour was enjoyed by all who knew her and she loved opening her home to welcome family and friends. Katie’s generosity and compassion knew no boundaries and she cared enough to fulfill the needs of loved ones and strangers unconditionally.

Katie will be lovingly remembered by her best friend and husband Ed, her family and friends and eight very special grandchildren.

There will be a Celebration of Life for Katie Fisher held at the Armstrong Bible Chapel September 3rd, 2011 at 3pm. It was Katie’s special request that guests help celebrate her life by wearing bright cheerful colours.
