Kenneth Richard (Ken) Pattison a long time Revelstoke resident, passed away peacefully at Queen Victoria Hospital on Thursday August 31, 2017 at the age of 76.  He will be dearly missed by wife Joan, daughter Tricia, son Brad, daughter-in-law Joelle and grandchildren Connor and Sienna Pattison.

Ken was born in Comox BC in 1941 where he quickly developed a love for the outdoors. He especially enjoyed hunting and salmon fishing.  He moved to Revelstoke in 1964 after completing chef training and began running the restaurant at McGregors Motor Inn. Arriving in a typical Revelstoke snow storm in a blue Triumph convertible sports car from Vancouver, Ken was excited to make this town his home.

After joining the Revelstoke Fire Department, Ken continued his love for cooking. He catered the children’s Christmas parties, the Annual Fireman’s Ball and numerous functions at the firehall. Ken retired from the fire department after 32 years of service due to ill health and spent his retirement gardening, fishing and spending time on Mara Lake with his family. It brought him great joy to see his grand kids running around the cabin, enjoying this hideaway that has provided so many happy memories for the past 48 years.

Joan, Trish and Brad wish to thank Dr. Christopher MacDonald for his care of Ken over the past years.  We also wish to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at the Queen Victoria Hospital and the Selkirk Medical Clinic who provided such care and compassion for Ken.

There will be no formal funeral service as per Ken’s request.
