Martin Arnold Ness
Martin Arnold Ness passed away peacefully at his daughter Rhonda’s residence in Vernon, B.C. on Wednesday, July 27th, 2011 at the age of 74 years. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Revelstoke on Wednesday morning, August 17th, 2011 at 11:00 with Father Cecil Nunez celebrant. Interment of the cremated remains will follow in the family plot of Mountain View Cemetery, Revelstoke. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Revelstoke Cancer Support Group, c/o Revelstoke Credit Union, Box 989, Revelstoke, B.C. V0E 2S0, in memory of Martin.
Martin was born in Borsa, Norway on February 28, 1937 and had been a resident of Revelstoke since 1958. He was a long-time member of the Elks Club. Martin enjoyed golfing, curling and watching wrestling on T.V. He loved to spend time with his family and his dogs.
Martin was predeceased by his parents and his wife Brenda in 2008. He is survived by his daughter Rhonda Perry (Darryl Niehaus) of Vernon; two grandchildren: Lindsey (Brad) Nakucyj and Jason Perry, all of Vernon; one brother Tormod (Ann-Marie) Ness of Norway; one sister Jordie (Wayne) Ness of Victoria; nieces and nephews: Shane (Courtney) Ness of Boston, Massachusetts, USA, Gina Ness of Vancouver, Bjorn Helge Ness and Tor Arne Ness, both of Norway; special friend and companion Hanne Scherm of Revelstoke; cousins Gail Piattelli and Glen (Rose) Piattelli of Revelstoke as well as other extended family members.
