Melvin Terrance (Terry) Gilbert
Melvin Terrance (Terry) Gilbert passed away at the Queen Victoria Hospital in Revelstoke on Saturday May 28th 2011 at the age of 59 years after a lengthy illness. A service was held at St Peter’s Anglican Church in Revelstoke on Wednesday afternoon, June 1, 2011 with Reverend Dan Meakes officiating. Honorary Pall Bearers were Barbara Gibson, Gary Gibson, Brian Gibson, Shelly Hill, Blaine Gibson, Brianna Gibson and Lorrie Rogers.
Terry was born in Revelstoke on February 3, 1952 and except for a couple of years lived his whole life in Revelstoke. Terry was predeceased by his Father Melvin Gilbert in 1995 and his Mother Shirley Gilbert (nee Nelson) in 2000; Grandparents Bernard (Bugs) and Rose Nelson and Silas and Jessie Gilbert; Uncles Bernard and Francis Nelson; Cousins Loralee Riley (nee Nelson); Sharon Nelson and Kevin Nelson and a number of other family members on his Father’s side.
He is survived by his Sister Barbara Gibson (nee Gilbert); Brother-in Law Gary Gibson of Cochrane AB; Niece Shelly and Scott Hill and children Jacob and Isabella; Nephew Blaine and Carrie Gibson and children Brianna, Elyse and Olivia; Nephew Brian and Karen Gibson and children Kayla and Cody; Aunt Joan Nelson; Cousin Barry (Butch) and Carol Nelson; Nicholas and Scott Riley as well as a number of other relatives.
