Mrs. Myrtle May Mouritsen passed away at Mt. Cartier Court Extended Care, Revelstoke on Friday, May 8th, 2009 at the age of 87 years. There will be no funeral service in Revelstoke, but Myrtle’s cremated remains will be interred beside her husband in Calgary at a later date.
Myrtle was born in Virden, Manitoba on September 5, 1921 and lived most of her life in Calgary. She had been a resident of Revelstoke for the last five years, moving here to be closer to her daughter. For the past year and a half, Myrtle was a resident of Mt. Cartier Court. She enjoyed living there and helping out around the cottages.
Myrtle was predeceased by her husband George, her parents and her nine siblings. She is survived by her two children: Daryl Mouritsen of Revelstoke and Angela (Uldis) Bokis of Revelstoke; three grandchildren: Cody Mouritsen of Vancouver, Jennifer Deering of Penticton and Alexandra Schmaltz of Saskatoon and two great grandchildren: Jayce Deering and Ava Doell, both of Penticton.
Cremation arrangements were in the care of Brandon Bowers Funeral Home, Revelstoke.
Myrtle’s family would like to thank the staff of the Mt. Cartier Court cottages for their excellent care and
compassion given to Myrtle during her stay there.
