Rory McGillivray

Rory Wayne McGillivray

Nov. 19, 1955 – Dec. 11, 2011

Rory was born in Port Alberni, BC where he worked as an engineer in the logging industry. In 1993, he moved his family to Revelstoke, BC where he continued to work in forestry until a knee injury forced him to re-train as an electrician. Working as an electrician in Victoria and throughout the province, Rory made many friends.  He was friendly, kind-hearted, and tremendously generous.  He loved spending time in the outdoors and there was nothing he wouldn’t do for his children and grandchildren.

Rory was predeceased by his father Archie McGillivray. He is survived by his three children: Heather (Dave) Manson of Revelstoke, Evan McGillivray and Darrell McGillivray of Kamloops; his three grandchildren Axel, Ari, and Seyja; his mother Elsie McGillivray of Port Alberni; his brothers Chris (Barbara) McGillivray of Fort Saskatchewan Alberta, Mark (Carol) McGillivray of Palmerston North New Zealand; his sisters Gaylene (Dave) Mawhinney of Pace, Florida, Bonnie (Ian) Hall of Campbell River BC, and Myrna (Rick) Driscoll of Sackville, New Brunswick; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held in the summer in Port Alberni, B.C.
