Steven Charles (Steve) Schurdevin


Mr. Steven Charles (Steve) Schurdevin passed away at his residence in Revelstoke on Friday, June 19th, 2009 at the age of 59 years.


Steve was born in Fargo, North Dakota on April 15, 1950 and had been a resident of Revelstoke for the past 20 years. He was a well-known faller in the heli-logging industry. Steve was instrumental in helping to start the Revelstoke Grizzlies hockey team. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and loved the outdoors. Steve especially enjoyed spending time with his family. His grandchildren always made him smile.


Steve was predeceased by his father Dwaine Schurdevin. He is survived by his mother Sadie Schurdevin of Thorne Bay, Alaska; three children: Adrienne Schurdevin (Lance Beattie) of Revelstoke, Travis Schurdevin of Revelstoke and Derek (Billy) Schurdevin of Comox; five grandchildren: Kirsten, Stevie, Karlie and twins Chase and Charli; one sister Debbie (Tracy) Vaughn of Thorne Bay, Alaska; one brother Mark (Kathy) Schurdevin of North Carolina as well as numerous nieces and nephews.


There will be a memorial service held at a future date. Notification of this service will be printed in the newspaper.


Cremation arrangements were in the care of Brandon Bowers Funeral Home, Revelstoke.
