November 25, 1961 - February 29, 2024

In loving memory ~

In true Tony Volpatti fashion, he decided to end his 8-year battle with ALS and passed away on February 29, 2024 (a leap year) at the age of 62. His D-Day was like no other- from the peaks of Mt. Begbie to tattoos at the Roxy Theatre, it was a true Tony sendoff surrounded by friends and family.

Tony was born in Hope, BC, on November 25, 1961, to his devoted parents, Jerry and Jeanie Volpatti. As part of a construction family, Tony, alongside his brother Shane and sister Gerilee, embraced a nomadic lifestyle, living in numerous cities across BC before settling in Revelstoke in 1978. Following his graduation and guided by his father's wisdom to "put down some roots," Tony embarked on a path as a machinist apprentice. His dedication led him through stints at local machine shops before settling into a fulfilling career spanning 29 years as a welder and switch heater maintainer at CPR.

From grade 5 onwards, Tony's passion for motorcycles ignited, culminating in his crowning achievement as the Canadian Cross Country Junior Champion in 1985. Yet, perhaps even deeper than his love for motorcycles was Tony's profound affinity for music, a legacy that continues to resonate strongly within his children and grandchildren.

In an alternate reality, Tony would have undoubtedly thrived as either a history teacher or a social media influencer. Blessed with an infectious charm and an insatiable curiosity for life, Tony's magnetic presence left a mark on all who crossed his path. He cherished his roles as a father, grandfather, and husband, deeply ingraining himself into Revelstoke's community fabric. Tony's family was his empire, and his legacy survives him through his loving wife, Lana, of 39 years, his son and daughter-in-law, Aaron and Michelle, his daughter and son-in-law, Brianne and Natale, and his five beloved grandchildren, Lily, Finn, Rocco, Matteo, and Soren.

In lieu of flowers and gifts, the family would request that donations be sent to Trees for Tots (https://www.revelstoketreesfortots.com/donate.html)

A Celebration of Life for both Tony and his mother, Jeanie, will be held on May 4th, 2024, at the Recreation Center in Revelstoke.
