It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Vickie Konas, on June 22, 2009 at Foothills Hospital in Calgary, surrounded by her children.


Vickie was born in Paisley, Scotland, in 1925.  During WW2 she worked in a munitions factory in London, England, then worked in New York City before visiting her sister Margaret in Revelstoke.  Vickie met her future husband, Kaye Konas & together they created a happy home with their four children. She resided in Revelstoke for 58 yrs, most recently at Monashee Court, where she valued her independence & social life. Vickie had a gentle way of making everyone feel special, through her kindness, sensitivity & incredible positive outlook on life. 


Mourning her passing are daughters Anne Marie Konas - Vancouver; Linda Dickson (Bob) - Revelstoke; Terry Deyl (Bob) - Calgary; son Ed Konas (Joanne) - Grande Cache; grandsons Riley & Stuart Dickson; step-grandchildren William & Gillian, Jamie & David, & cherished nephews, nieces & friends in Canada, UK and Poland.


A Funeral Mass was held on June 30, 2009, at St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Revelstoke, BC. with Father Ronnie Tagnines celebrant. Honorary pallbearers were: Biagio Palumbo, Cyril Keates, Joe Woodcock, Tony Woodcock, Bill McCahon and Dennis Gawiuk.
