Domenic Lentini and Logan Ancell were in the ring for Revelstoke at the Nelson Boxing Club’s Fight Night III on May 20.

Up first was Ancell, weighing in at 165 lbs, boxing Nelson’s Brayden Hellekson. From the first bell to the last the two boxers threw hard and heavy punches at each other with a strength that rivalled boxers much older than these two 14 year olds. At the end of the bout Ancell lost by decision to the Nelson boxer. This was Ancell’s first match.

Up Later in the night was Lentini boxing a rematch against Nelsons Kenny Stanton. The two faced each other a month earlier in Cranbrook. Early in the first round, Stanton made it clear that he was determined to make up for the loss he suffered at the hands of Lentini. In the end, Lentini proved again to be too much for the Nelson boxer, scoring two standing eight counts and utilizing a jab that Stanton could not deal with. At the end of the bout Lentini won by unanimous decision. This was Lentinis third bout, making him 3-0.

This season of boxing was one of the busiest and most successful in recent years for the Revelstoke Boxing Club. Despite the rocky start after moving the club, I couldn’t be more pleased with the dedication of members both competitive and recreational. I look forward to another season coaching the boxers and athletes from our community.

This marks the end of the season for the Revelstoke Boxing Club before opening again in September.
