Brendan Urban had two goals and an assist and Brad Friedrich scored twice to lead the Revelstoke Grizzlies to a 6-3 victory over the Kamloops Storm in the opening game of their round two playoff series Thursday night in Revelstoke.

The game saw the Grizzlies jump out to a 3-0 lead with goals from Colten Dahlen, Jeff Mobley and Urban before the first period was eight minutes old. However, Kamloops stormed back to make it 3-2 before the period was over, with goals from Chase Edwards and Duncan Schulz.

The second period started with the teams trading goals. First, Friedrich scored for Revelstoke, with Josh Rasmussen getting Kamloops back within one six minutes later.

That was as close as they would get. Friedrich and Urban would each score their second goals of the night to put Revelstoke up 6-3 by the time the period was over.

Goaltender Tory Caldwell made 15 saves in a scoreless third period to preserve the 6-3 lead. Revelstoke outshot the Storm 56-32 over the course of the game.

The teams resume battle 7 p.m. Friday night in Revelstoke.
