Revelstoke’s Fields store will be closing in the future, though the exact date is not yet known.

Hudson Bay Company announced the closure of its 141 Fields stores. In a letter to vendors, HBC’s Fields senior vice president and general manager Michael Waitzer said the stores would be closed between now and this fall.

At the store on the corner of First Street West and Boyle Avenue, the racks are marked by clearance signs.

Fields was known as a one-stop shop where people could stock up on clothes, groceries and other items in one trip. It also generally featured lower-priced goods than competing stores.

Employees said they were not allowed to talk to the media about the closure.
