Revelstoke's Monashee Unit Crew is auctioning off a day of hard labour to raise money to help people with spinal cord injuries.

The fire fighting team is holding the auction in honour of founding crew member and Revelstoke resident Jeff Scott, who sustained a spinal cord injury while snowboarding last Spring and is now wheelchair bound.

The money raised will go to Live It! Love It!, a non-profit organization that supports adaptive sport for people with spinal cord injuries.

All 20 members of the unit crew are auctioning off eight hours of their time to the highest bidder. In previous years, the crew has worked on construction projects, painted buildings, repaired fences, fallen and bucked timber and done transformative landscape work.

Bidding takes place at Home Hardware at 201 Campbell Ave. The auction closes July 15 at 5 p.m.
