The Birch & Lace Trashion Show was a hit, with 14 entries and about 100 people in attendance.

Entrants were challenged to create an outfit using nothing but items destined for the recycling or garbage bin. They rose to the challenge, parading up and down the Rockford at Revelstoke Mountain Resort in costumes that feature everything from beer cans to grocery bags to electrical wire to old magazines.

In the end, Sarah Spurr's The Last Mermaid was declared the winner.
