Two Central Okanagan charities received a generous donation following a golf tournament in West Kelowna.

The City Furniture Charity Golf Tournament raised about $20,000 during the two-day event from June 11 to 12.

Both the Peachland Food Bank and Julia’s Junction Inclusive Play Space in West Kelowna, will receive $10,000 each from the tournament.

The Peachland Food Bank will use the money for its new building The Annex. This building will be a part of the district-owned facility that will be developed on the site of the current 50+ Activity Centre and will extend back towards Highway 97.

The golf tournament teed off 25 years ago and each year the event is held in a different community across Western Canada where a City Furniture store is located.
