Holiday train rocks into Revelstoke

Choo choo the magic of Christmas pulled into Revelstoke on Dec. 16

The Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) rail pulled into Revelstoke, on Monday, Dec. 16, full of the Christmas spirit.

In its 26th year, the annual tradition is ready to roll across Canada and the U.S. starting Nov. 21 on the east coast and travelling across country until the final stops on Dec. 20.

The month-long tour will see the festively decorated train stop at different communities along the way, with professional musicians providing free concerts while CPKC collects money and donations and raises awareness to support local food banks.

The musical acts on the local leg of the tour this year will be Canadian reggae-fusion band Magic!, and Toronto singer/songwriter Sofia Camara.

The holiday train received a warm welcome in Revelstoke, complete with firefighters were serving up hot food and jingle bells ringing.

CPKP donated $10,000 to Community Connections Food Bank.
