Organizers are gearing up for the first big musical production in the new $3-million theatre being built as part of the new schools project.
Producer Alan Chell said organizing meetings have just begun for a targeted February 2012 production. They've shortlisted Evita, Fiddler on the Roof, Grease or Little Shop of Horrors as potential productions.
Bob Rogers had been tipped as musical director and Martin Ralph and Jasmine Brackenbury are reviewing the scores as we speak.
So, how can you get involved? They are looking for a whole bunch of production staff, including technical, sound, lighting, choreography, set design and construction, costuming, props, make up and hair, advertising, promotions, front of house, rehearsal, pianists, choral and set painting.
"Past musicals have involved up to 200 people and are a great way to showcase community talent, both on stage and off stage," Chell said.
Auditions are set for September. In the meantime, email Lyn Kaulback at denlyn1@telus.net or Alan Chell at achell@live.com for more info.
