Dozens of wishes made in memory of slain youth Daniel Levesque hang from the tree in Centennial Park.

A wish tree has been set up in Centennial Park so people can make a wish in memory of Daniel Levesque.

The tree is located where the greenbelt joins up with the park. As of Friday afternoon, it was adorned with dozens of messages and there were no tags left to leave more.

The wish tree was set up by Levesque's close friend Julian Romeo and his mother Christina. It is inspired by Yoko Ono, who has used it in many of her exhibits.

A sign on the tree reads as follows:

A note on the tree reads:

Make a wish.

Write it down on a piece of paper.

Fold it and tie it around a branch of a wish tre.

Ask your friend to do the same.

Keep wishing.

Until the branches are covered with wishes.

- Yoko Ono

In memory of Daniel

May this tree heal our hearts
