National Parks free to enter for Parks Day on Saturday

Glacier and Mt. Revelstoke National Parks will be free to visit as Canada celebrates Parks Day on Saturday, July 16.

Revelstoke RCMP detachment members gathered in June to show solidarity with their colleague Cliff Randal, who has been diagnosed with cancer and is undergoing treatment. They gathered for an evening and shaved their heads to show their support for Randal.

Timber Day was a success this year, with hundreds of people coming out to watch more than a dozen locals compete in a variety of logging sports ranging from the practical (stock saw) to the skillful (axe throw) to the entertaining (Groucho Marx).
