Revelstoke Theatre Company planning for first musical in new theatre

It’s not finished yet, but even amidst all the construction Revelstoke’s new community theatre -- housed inside the new Revelstoke Secondary School -- is a sight to behold. With an orchestra section, three catwalks, and seating for 275 among some of its features the potential uses for the new theatre are numerous. So it may come as a surprise that the theatre doesn’t appear to have been a high priority for the Ministry of Education.

Many may know her as a long-time volunteer with the Revelstoke Grizzlies Minor Hockey Team, as a former Miss Revelstoke candidate, a member of the Community Choir, or in various citizenship roles as a Royal Canadian Army Cadet.

New CBT youth funding available for six communities

A new pilot CBT youth funding program is being unveiled this fall and six communities stand to benefit from $100,000 in funding over four years. But in order to be selected as one of the six communities, the community has got to apply. CBT spokesperson Andrea Wilkey says the program will seek a cross-section of communities, including small and large ones. The CBT is also seeking to distribute the pilot communities across the Columbia Basin.
