(Submitted) Jazz vocalist Andrea Superstein will be playing the Selkirk Room at the Regent for the Revelstoke Jazz Club on Oct. 5.

You have to know the rules in order to break them.

Prepare to watch as Andrea Superstein breaks all the rules in the book, with grace, skill, humour and beauty.

This vocalist was dubbed as “redefining jazz” by the Vancouver Province, and with her new album “Worlds Apart”, she does just that.

Superstein will be performing in the Selkirk Room at the Regent Hotel, presented by the Revelstoke Jazz Club.

Produced and arranged by four time Juno nominee, two time Polaris prize long-lister, Elizabeth Shepherd, Worlds Apart explores the notion of finding beauty and unity in a fragmented world. Where technology simultaneously brings us together and drives us apart, the original music spans three languages and multiple genres to create a listening experience like no other.

Superstein exemplifies powerful vocals, evoking the gentle and the strong, deep blues to pop confection, often in the same song.

She lithely navigates the colours of the emotional spectrum, luring us deeper into her musical mind, all the while weaving stories and anecdotes, making this much more than just a concert. Is it a true experience.

The release has already been celebrated by reaching the No. 5 spot on the official Spotify vocal jazz playlist.
