It’s almost time for the Penticton Speedway to welcome back one of its most popular events, hit-to-pass trailer racing.
The track is promising an action-packed night of “chaos” this Father’s Day weekend when the Sunshine Bowl returns to Penticton.
More than 10 drivers are now confirmed to participate in the trailer race, the evening’s main event.
“The best part of the trailer race is the absolute carnage”, said Rick Digby, a past champion of the race and local driver. “It’s like no other race.
“Our job is to make the fans stand up and scream and deliver!”
Along with the trailer, this weekend’s Sunshine Bowl also includes the racing of RPR Street Stocks, Hornet Class, and a Legend Exhibition.
The one-day event kicks off at 5:30 p.m. and tickets can be purchased here. Representatives from the track say a new Okanagan food truck will be open for business at the race.
Saturday marks the Penticton Speedway’s final event of June.
Racing returns to the track with the Summer Classic on July 15.
