CN said Thursday morning that crews worked safely through the night at the site of the five-car derailment that occurred last evening at 5:40 pm local time near Barriere, B.C.
"Train movements are expected to resume this afternoon, local time," said CN manager, stakeholder relations, Tyler Banick in an email. "CN crews will remain on site as cleanup activities are ongoing."
Banick confirmed there were no leaks, fires or injuries reported.
"CN would like to apologize for any inconvenience caused by this event and thanks local first responders for their assistance.”

Crews are on scene of a rail derailment in B.C.'s Interior Wednesday evening March 12.
CN manager of stakeholder relations, Tyler Banick, confirmed Thursday evening in an email that crews are responding to a derailment that occurred south of Barriere at approximately 5:40 pm local time.
Banick said preliminary reports indicate there are five derailed cars on the mainline.
CN crews and local first responders were attending to the scene and the cause is under investigation.
"CN would like to apologize for inconveniences caused by this incident. More information will be provided as it becomes available," Banick said.
