UPDATE: Dog missing after crash on Trans Canada Highway near Revelstoke

An incident involving a truck pulling a trailer and an SUV led to individuals being taken to hospital, and a dog missing

UPDATE: July 31

Unfortunately the dog who was reported missing after a collision Highway 1 was discovered deceased.

The Missing Dog Response Team alerted the community via social media on June 30.


A collision involving a truck pulling a trailer and an SUV sent several people to hospital and caused a dog to go missing. 

The incident occurred on July 29, at about 6 p.m. at the intersection of the Trans Canada Highway, near Big Eddy Road. 

Revelstoke RCMP Sgt. Derek Robin said that it appeared that the SUV was turning from the highway to Big Eddy Road, cutting off the truck which was unable to stop. 

Individuals involved in the incident were taken to hospital with non-life threatening, but serious injuries. As well, a black dog that was in the truck fled the scene and is currently missing.
