The Revelstoke Snowmobile Club is encouraging riders to dust off their vintage snowmobiles for their annual Vintage Ride.
Newly appointed executive director, Amber Lane said that the Revelstoke club is the oldest snowmobile club in Canada and that the event “is a nod to our history.”
The event will take place on Saturday, March. 8, beginning at 8:30 a.m. at 4177 Westside Road. The event will feature a bingo run this year, rather than a poker run in previous years. The bingo run will help give the older sleds a break as they stop to fill out their cards.
Last year the event saw 750 people enjoy a day of sledding, burgers and the poker run. While Lane did note that there were fewer people signed up so far, she did note that because of the recent snowfall, she is hopeful that more will show up tomorrow.
According to the club’s website, the schedule is as follows:
8:30-10 a.m.: Vintage sled registration at Welcome Centre or West Boulder booth
10-11 a.m.: Self-led Bingo run on the trails to Boulder Cabin – card for sale at kiosk at trail entrance
11am-12 p.m.: Burgers and pop fundraiser (cash only) provided by Zala’s Restaurant at Boulder Cabin
1pm: Registration open for vintage sled drag races, organized by Cold Smoke Sled Rentals (Categories: 340cc and under, 341-539ccs, 540cc+)
1:30pm Vintage drag races begin in the meadow in front of Boulder Cabin
