Body found in Vernon bush deemed suspicious by RCMP

Major Crimes Unit investigating discovery of 30-year-old man

A 30-year-old man was found dead on a forest service road near Vernon Sunday.

The British Columbia RCMP Southeast District Major Crime Unit has taken over the investigation after the discovery July 2.

Miguel Suzor’s body was found on the forest service road used to access Proctor Lake.

Investigators have deemed the death suspicious.

Anybody who was in the area of Silver Star Road and Rogers Road on July 2 who saw anything of note, or who has video in the area, is asked to contact RCMP.

“Further, if anybody has information regarding Suzor’s whereabouts or actions during July 1 to 2, please contact investigators,” said Cpl. James Grandy, district advisory NCO – media relations.

“The investigation is in its preliminary stages, and investigators do not currently know the circumstances that led to Suzor’s death. The preliminary investigation has not identified any suggestion of risk to the public.”
