Campfires and fire pits banned in Revelstoke

The ban is in place as of 3 p.m. today (July 10)

Campfires are now banned in Revelstoke.

Effective at 3 p.m. on Monday (July 10) special occasion fires are prohibited within the City of Revelstoke.

According to a post from the City, special occasion fires include campfires and fire pits.

The ban will be in effect ‘until further notice’.

Category 1 burning is prohibited in the Southeast Wildfire Centre, which includes Revelstoke. This includes fireworks, sky lanterns, burn barrels or burn cages of any size or description, binary exploding targets, air curtain burners, tiki and similar kind of torches, and chimneys.
