The Kooteany Carshare Cooperative is now offering a new casual membership.
Waving the normal $500 membership share required, a casual membership includes gas and insurance, says a news release from the organization.
The casual membership structure is for people who are looking to use a vehicle on a temporary basis, or for a short period of time.
A wheelchair van is also available.
Rates are: for an economy vehicle: $0.33/km, $3.00/hr, midsize vehicle: $0.36/km, $3.50/hr, large vehicle: $0.48/km, $5.00/hr.

The Kootenay Carshare Cooperative was founded in 2001 when a group of Nelsonites decided they each no longer needed a vehicle, and now has branches in Nelson, Kaslo, Kimberley, Revelstoke, and Rossland.
