City of Revelstoke unveil new washroom facility at Williamson Lake

The ribbon on the new facility was cut on June 1

The City of Revelstoke unveiled the new washroom facility at Williamson Lake on June 1.

“Williamson Lake is a major tourist attraction in summer, with the only outdoor swimming area in town, a children’s play area, and a City-operated campground. In 2016, Council endorsed the Williamson’s Lake Community Park & Campground Concept Plan,” said the City of Revelstoke in a press release.

The previous facility was 70 years old and needed significant improvements. The upgrade project was funded through the Resort Municipality Initiative.

“The new campground shower building is one step toward improving the campground to bring it up to the standard of a municipal park in a BC resort community,” said Laurie Donato, Director of Parks, Recreation & Culture, in a press release. “The new amenity will enhance the camping experience for visitors.”
