The witching hour has come to the Central Okanagan.

Witchy folk will be heading out for paddle board rides while dressed in pointy hats around West Kelowna, Coldstream and Oyama to usher in the spooky season in the Okanagan.

West Kelowna witches will be setting sail on Sunday Oct. 8. The wiccans are planning to gather at the Pritchard Beach and Playground, but the location may be subject to change due to a large amount of interest in the event. Stay up to date on potential location changes by following the Witches Paddle Kelowna Facebook event.

The Wood Lake Water Witches are hosting their annual paddle on Oct. 15. Hundreds of spooky paddlers will conjure up across from Oyama Hall at 2p.m. and will start paddling at 3p.m. People are encouraged to dress up in their spookiest attire for the event.

Follow the Wood Lake Water Witches event page on Facebook for more information.

Another event is planned for Kal Beach on Oct. 28, at noon, with hundreds of witches expected. The Colstream event is co-hosted by the Kalavida Surf Shop.

All are welcome and stongly encouraged to dress up. “The darker and witchier the better for a spooky vibe on the lake,” said event organizer Ashley Reich. The event is family friendly so children and pets are welcome. For more information on the Coldstream event visit the SUP WITCHES! Halloween Paddle Facebook Event.
