Update 10:49 a.m.

The Glenfir Road wildfire is holding at an estimated 32 hectares.

On Tuesday crews were successful in their battle against hot spots on the southeast gully, which have caused difficulties because the large and steep gullies make it hard to access the area to fight the fire.

BC Wildfire Service said the firefighters continue to face challenges, including direct sun exposure and little to no shade in the area making work conditions tough for the crews.

The fire is expected to be slope driven and if winds are strong as they have been forecasted the fire could spread across the slope.

There are 32 personnel on site fighting the wildfire, air support is being provided as required. The wildfire is classified as under control, meaning the fire has received sufficient suppression action to ensure no further spread of the fire.

Winds had been proving to be a challenge for crews, especially in the gulley. As a result, helicopters were utilized to perform bucketing action in this area on Tuesday.

The fire was discovered on July 17 after a lightning storm rolled through the Okanagan.
