Speeding was the cause of a single-vehicle crash on the Trans-Canada Highway near Three Valley Gap that resulted in minor injuries Tuesday afternoon.

Revelstoke RCMP say a 22-year-old man was heading eastbound when he lost control of his tractor-trailer, causing it to jack-knife and flip on its side on July 15 at around 12:30 p.m.

The crash closed the Trans-Canada for about two hours, backing up traffic into Revelstoke and west of the scene as well.

The man was charged with speeding relative to the conditions.

"Drivers are advised to be aware of speed recommendation signs as speed was directly related to this incident," said Staff-Sgt. Kurt Grabinsky in a news release.

The semi was carrying home products.
