ELECTION 2014: Mark McKee leads early results for Revelstoke mayor

City of Revelstoke: Mark McKee is leading the mayor's race with seven out of 13 ballot boxes counted.

Mark McKee is leading the Revelstoke mayor's race with seven out of 13 ballot boxes counted.

McKee has 582 votes, almost 200 more than Michael Brooks-Hill, who trails with 386 votes. Current mayor David Raven has 312 votes so far.

Gary Sulz leads the early results for council, with 789 votes. Connie Brothers (755), Scott Duke (691), Aaron Orlando (663), Trevor English (597), and Linda Nixon (583) round out the top six vote getters, so far. Gary Starling has (499), Chuck Ferguson (478), George Buhler (462), Chris Johnston (423), Karen Powers (420) and Steve Bender (328) round out the early results.

Teresa LeRose, the Chief Electoral Officer for the City of Revelstoke, announced the results midway through counting at the community centre.

There are three candidates for mayor and 12 for council in the Revelstoke municipal election. The council candidates are Steve Bender, Connie Brothers, George Buhler, Scott Duke, Trevor English, Chuck Ferguson, Chris Johnston, Linda Nixon, Aaron Orlando, Karen Powers, Gary Starling and Gary Sulz.
