An 82-year-old Nakusp woman has died in a single-vehicle collision on Highway 23 south of Revelstoke.
Revelstoke RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Rod Wiebe said responders got the call on Saturday, Sept. 24 at about 5:20 p.m. to a crash about 20 kilometres from Revelstoke.
At the scene, police found that a northbound Toyota Corolla had crossed the centre line and crashed into the southbound ditch, coming to a rest on an embankment.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
"The cause of the crash is still under investigation by the Trans-Canada East Traffic Services and a collision reconstructionist, but speed does not appear to be a factor," Wiebe said in a statement.
