A garage and shop building that contained petroleum products, propane tanks and welding tanks went up in flames early Wednesday morning.
Revelstoke Fire Rescue Services responded to a call to a fire in the Southside neighbourhood in the 1200-block of Cottonwood at about 1:30 a.m.
When they arrived, the building was "fully involved."
“There was a significant amount of fire loading in the building ... which we were definitely concerned about," said fire chief Rob Girard. "The attack teams did a great job in getting the fire under control safely."
Nobody was in the shop when firefighters arrived. It took fire crews just under an hour to extinguish and overhaul the fire.
One firefighter suffered a minor injury in the incident, but the fire was contained to the garage only.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
