Hedley man left with serious injuries in hit-and-run

Police are looking for a white SUV Kia that has windshield and hood damage

Princeton RCMP are looking to identify a hit-and-run driver who left a Hedley man with serious injuries on June 9.

On June 9, at approximately midnight, the victim was returning to his home after securing a loose horse in the 6000 block of Highway 3 in Hedley. While walking along the highway, the man was struck by an unknown white SUV, possibly a Kia. The vehicle sustained damage to its front right windshield, grill and hood.

The driver of the Kia failed to stop and fled the scene, said Cpl. James Grandy. It was last seen travelling towards Hedley and Keremeos on Highway 3.

The pedestrian sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries, said police.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, or have dash-cam video or additional information is asked to contact the Princeton RCMP at 250-295-6911 and quote file number 2023-805.
