Today (March 23) is the final day to provide input to the City of Revelstoke about the proposed Powerhouse Park concept.

The community identified Powerhouse Rd., and the proposed park as a key area of interest back in July of last year. Since then, the proposed park has quietly progressed through the various steps required to move towards approval and implementation. Last week, the city opened the project up for city feedback, and today is the last day to comment.

The proposed project would be on the east side of Revelstoke and run along the Illecillewaet River. It would include a few features that have been isolated by the community as particularly important, like a fenced off-leash dog park.

For those who frequent the community Facebook page, the issue of a dog park in Revelstoke has become a hot topic after a few incidents sparked heavy debate online.

The proposed park would include a 1.34-acres dog park, which is more than half the size of a soccer field.

The park would also have a community garden, a disc golf course, and washrooms.

To give feedback on the project, the City of Revelstoke asked everyone to submit it using the Talk Revelstoke page.
