May 14 scorcher: Revelstoke Canada's hottest

Revelstoke was the hottest place in Canada on May 14, and we also toppled the local record for the date.

It wasn't hard to spot Revelstokians nursing sunburns after a scorching hot Saturday, May 14.

The temperature peaked at 28.1 degrees Celsius at about 4 p.m. at the Revelstoke Airport weather station.

Revelstoke tied Salmon Arm as Canada's hot spot for the day.

The new mark bested the old Revelstoke record for May 14 of 26.3 degrees Celsius set in 1997. The record low was 2.1 degrees Celsius in 2006.
