A new street in the Hunters Hill development is named in honour of a Summerland family.
On Dec. 1, the developers of Hunters Hill held a road dedication for Dickinson Place as they also announced the third phase of the development.
The street is named after the Dickinson family, who have farmed in the area since 1912.

The Hunters Hill development is on around 61 hectares of land in Summerland and will have 70 homes. At present, 40 have been constructed.
“A project of this scope is pretty much unheard of in Summerland,” said Patrick Murphy, one of the developers of Hunters Hill. “We’ve invested heavily into making this project a reality.”
Summerland mayor Doug Holmes said the development will be a closely-knit part of Summerland.
“It’s great to see a new neighbourhood joining the Summerland family,” he said. “It we’re going to grow, these are the kinds of developments we need.”
“It really is an incredible addition to Summerland,” added Sally Pierce, executive director of the Summerland Chamber of Commerce.
