One of Penticton’s prolific offenders who allegedly pointed a replica firearm at a woman who was trying to retrieve her stolen bicycle is also charged with break-and-enter just four days after that incident in March.
Anthony Muskego, 33, had his first appearance on May 17 for charges of breaking and entering to commit an indictable offense and for possessing a break-in instrument from the March 21 incident in Penticton.
Muskego had been out on $500 bail after he was arrested on March 16 for the replica firearm incident, for which he was charged with pointing a firearm, assault with a weapon, possession of stolen property under $5,000 and possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
On March 16, the bicycle’s owner had spotted her bike near Fairford and Industrial Avenue, and after taking it back, Muskego allegedly pointed a firearm towards her as she walked away with it.
The police then arrested Muskego and seized a replica handgun. He was released from jail the next day on March 17.
An additional charge of breaching a probation order was added on March 29. Following that additional charge, he was released again on bail. According to court documents, he is not currently in custody.

His court appearance on May 17 also included an appearance to receive particulars about the other charges.
He also has two trials scheduled for July 26 and 27, one for possession of stolen property and driving while prohibited and the other for possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
Muskego is a career criminal having been convicted of serious crimes including sexual assault over the past 20 years.
Muskego was convicted of sexual assault in 2010 in Oliver. He was given 10 months in jail, one-year probation and a five-year firearms ban. He was also convicted of breaching his probation four times in 2012.
