The WorkBC inclusive job fair brought in a small crowd of people into the Revelstoke Community Centre on Thursday morning (April 20).
Starting with a presentation from keynote speaker, Victoria Maxwell, the fair’s theme was inclusivity in the workplace.
Maxwell spoke about her own experiences dealing with mental illness, and how it affected her work life. She talked about the best employers she had and how they helped to accommodate her needs so that she could continue to be a valued member of the workforce.
As employers and job seekers from Revelstoke sat and listened to her story, Maxwell encouraged everyone that mental illness should not prevent people from looking for work or from getting hired.
