Snowfall warning in effect for B.C. highways

Environment Canada is issuing a snowfall warning on B.C. Interior highways for Friday to Sunday.

Caution on the highways.

It will be a weekend of white across the Interior region.

Environment Canada is forecasting periods of snow to continue Friday night through to Sunday morning — 15 to 30 centimetres is expected to fall.

A highway alert has been issued for the Coquihalla and Trans-Canada.

The prolonged period of snow will affect the Fraser Canyon region and Coquihalla Summit.

While in the Shuswap 25 to 35 cm of snow is expected with the highest amounts accumulating over the Rogers and Kootenay Paseses.

Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Adjust to winter driving behaviour and use winter tires and chains.
