A lightning strike is believe to have ignited a small spot fire near Shingle Creek west of Penticton.
The fire was discovered late on Sunday night and by Monday afternoon it was already considered as being held.
At about 0.009 hectares in size, it is only considered a spot fire.

The Kamloops Fire Centre confirmed that a four person initial attack crew with the BC Wildfire Service was deployed to the fire.
Currently only two wildfires are listed as out of control in the fire centre’s area: a 57 hectare fire east of Murtle Lake and a two hectare fire northeast of Sicamous at Perry River.
