Stetski joins NDP shadow cabinet

Kootenay-Columbia NDP MP Wayne Stetski has been appointed his party’s critic for National Parks.

Kootenay-Columbia NDP MP Wayne Stetski has been appointed his party’s critic for National Parks.

“I’m honoured to be appointed to the NDP shadow cabinet,” he said in a news release. “Our experienced and united team is ready to get to work on behalf of Canadians as the progressive opposition. The Liberal government made a lot of commitments this campaign. We’re going to hold them to their promises.”

Stetski said he will work to ensure protection of the natural environment for future generations and reverse Conservative changes to environmental protection laws, including updating Parks Canada’s plan to focus on protecting the ecological integrity of national parks, creating new parks, and improving ecological connectivity between national parks and other protected areas.
