Three people were arrested in connection with a vehicle theft on Tuesday.

Three Revelstoke residents are facing numerous charges in connection with a vehicle theft and high speed chase that started in Revelstoke and ended in Salmon Arm on Tuesday, and may have also involved an armed robbery.

Salmon RCMP say the incident began when a vehicle was stolen from a home in Revelstoke shortly after midnight on April 11.

The vehicle was located by the Sicamous RCMP, who attempted to stop it, but the suspects fled west on the Trans-Canada Highway at speeds in excess of 140 km/hr.

The pursuit was picked up by Salmon Arm RCMP, who followed the vehicle to a downtown Salmon Arm business. They were able to box the vehicle in and arrest two men and a woman after a short scuffle.

The man believed to be the driver is faced with seven potential charges, including possession of a stolen vehicle, flight from police, impaired driving and breach of conditions. He is in custody and is expected to appear in Salmon Arm court on Apr. 25.

RCMP have recommended charges of possession of stolen property and other driving offences against the other man and woman.

Charges must be approved by the Crown prosecutor. The suspects have not been named.

Sicamous RCMP are also investigating to see if the trio were involved in an armed robbery that took place that night.

Staff-Sgt. Kurt Grabinsky of the Revelstoke RCMP said a second truck was stolen in Revelstoke, but it was left here.
